MY WORK PLACEMENT by Inès

My work placement was in Aurillac from Tuesday February 15th to Saturday February 20th.
During my work placement, I stayed at my uncle’s who lives not far from the bakery where I worked. It was a bakery pastry factory.
It is a family company and the grand pa’ was so funny. We were 20 to work there from 14 to 84 years old !
I woke up at 5am and I started work at 6 am except on Sunday when I started at 5 am. Every day, I finished at 1 am.
I never lunched after my duty because we tasted all the desserts. I ate all sorts of cakes and pastries, it was delicious. I made “madelaines” all by myself like a real chef !
Then, every day, we went home with a box of pastry and one loaf of bread. It’s a French tradition.
I chose this work placement because I do want to be a pastry chef. It has been my dream since I was a child. It was a wonderful experience and my colleagues were very kind. It’s the best job in the world.

MY WORK PLACEMENT by Cyrine

My work placement took place in the medical Clinic of Domont.
In the clinic of Domont, we can find orthopedic surgery, ophthalmic surgery and endoscopy.

Every day, I started at 09:00 am except on Wednesday when I went to the clinic at 07:30 am because, that day, I visited the operating rooms. Every afternoon, I finished at 05:00 pm.

I went to work by car with my mother and a friend of mine because my mother works there.

I helped the doctors’ secretaries and I prepared the consultations. I classified patients’ files in ascending order.

At 12:00 am, it was lunch break, with a friend, I went to the bakery or the grocery store to buy some food.

This experience was interesting and I learned many things. The staff was very nice and patient with me. I discovered the world of work and it was a very good experience.

Later, I would like to work in the medical field because I want to be useful and help people in need, that’s why I have chosen this work placement.
